The horror genre is in a bit of a renaissance at the moment. Rather than stale slashers and predictable sequels, the genre has seen a ton of additional and thrill-seeking properties hit theaters, and create large quantity of allowance at the bin office. Zombie's use of gore is in stark juxtaposition to the underlying campaigning and somewhat silly swearing of the first two Halloween films.
In contrast, Blumhouse's Halloween is aggravating to go encourage to basics. The additional sequel will retcon all of the movies besides the native out of existence, and focus upon Laurie Strode, as capably as her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson. Writer Danny McBride has maintained that the additional movie will be greatly influenced by the original, and will past over bring the franchise encourage to a slow suspenseful place.
